We fueled up at the truck stop also. So far for the trip, our fuel costs have been $483.04!
Finally in mid-afternoon we arrived at our destination—River Forks Campground, a Hall county park in Gainesville, Georgia. The park is fantastic and our site is beautiful!!
This is the view from our living room window and our picnic table. The park is nestled on 118 acres, along the shores of Lake Sidney Lanier. The temperature is 67 degrees.
In the evening we went to dinner with Pam’s sister, Jan, and great-nephew, Matthew, followed by showers at Jan’s (oh, the luxury of a hot shower!).
Returning home almost at midnight, we went to bed. Slipping into clean sheets, listening to the lap of the water on the shore, feeling the cool night breeze, smelling the fresh clean scent of the trees, dispelled any doubts we were having the last two days about what were are doing.
We are content.
